Modular construction can save owners valuable time and provide potential pricing advantages over more traditional building methods, while also improving quality – delivering a win for owners and for travelers.
As the world’s largest branded residential company, developers look to Marriott for our expertise in mixed-use development.
Marriott International brands represent more than half of high-end branded residences globally. Our portfolio includes nearly 90 residential properties in 33 countries, with more than 50 in development. We offer a variety of distinctive brands, experienced development support, and dedicated residential services that effectively drive price premiums and long-term value for developers and owners.
Marriott Global Design is a resource dedicated to helping owners build, convert or renovate existing and new properties. Global Design associates provide input and advice regarding selection of the project architects and interior designers. They also lead the engineering, hotel openings, operations, fire protection and life safety, and brand disciplines in reviewing and commenting on hotel design, schematic, and construction plans. Global Design monitors the progress of ongoing development to ensure it aligns with agreed upon plans and shares best practices across our owner and franchisee community.
Hotels are provided with extensive pre-opening support across five different areas: Opening Operations, Sales + Marketing, Revenue Management, Platform Delivery, and Operations Delivery + Brand Activation. These five teams collaborate with ownership and Marriott’s Global Design team to provide guidance and assistance through the entire pre-opening process. The Hotel Openings team, which supports each of Marriott’s 30 brands, has developed a detailed pre-opening process, comprised of key tasks, to prepare the hotel for opening day and ensure every hotel is set-up for success in the future. Our dynamic team utilizes their expertise in conjunction with the latest tools and technology to ensure a smooth and successful opening.
Diverse and Inclusive Development
Marriott International’s overall commitment to diversity starts with Executive Chairman J.W. Marriott, Jr., who is a strong advocate for and supporter of the company’s diversity efforts. Diversity is critical to Marriott’s core values and success throughout our ownership base, workforce, and suppliers. This is evidenced by Marriott’s Diverse Ownership Initiative. Launched in 2005, the Diverse Ownership Initiative was created to introduce successful minority and women business owners to the hotel industry. Today, more than 1,200 Marriott International hotels are owned by minorities and women, with over than 900 in the pipeline and a goal of 1,500 by 2020. As a result, Marriott is seen to have one of the most broadly diverse ownership portfolios in the industry.
By integrating sustainability across our value chain and mitigating climate-related risk, Marriott is working to reduce our environmental impacts, build and operate sustainable hotels and source responsibly. From design to the guest experience, sustainability is embedded into our business strategy. We collaborate with our associates, hotel owners, franchisees, brands, suppliers, business partners and guests to actively reduce the environmental impact of and risk to our business by constructing and operating sustainable hotels.
